shayish my native american friend from Canada

Depuis des années, je rêve d'avoir un correspondant amérindien-cf ma petite rédaction disponible sur mon blog-et ce rêve vient de se réaliser, après maints essais infructueux pour nouer des contacts.

Il s'appelle Adam Anawasse, 19 ans, il est Cree/Odawa et vient de l'Ontario, Canada. Mais sa famille l'appelle Shayish, qui signifie "little old man", un nom donné par son arrière-grand père quand il était enfant. Adam est danseur, un Warrior, et chante aussi très bien. Il appartient, avec son père et son frère, au Wolf Clan, ou clan du loup, c'est à dire que le loup est leur esprit totem à qui ils se réfèrent. Le loup symbolise pour eux la protection, et Adam m'a aussi expliqué qu'il portait un tatouage sur le front, deux lignes parallèles marrons et rouges bordées de noir, qui représentent les routes parallèles qu'empreintent l'homme et le loup dans la vie. Pour eux ce qui arrive au loup n'est pas bon. Ainsi ils voient d'un très mauvais oeil les piégeages ou chasses aux loups sur leur continent. Mais il arrive qu'un loup se prenne dans les piégeages non prévus pour lui, et alors ils prennent sa peau et en font une toque ou une coiffe pour les cérémonies.

Adam est apparemment en apprentissage pour devenir Shaman, il écoute avec intérêt ce que disent les anciens de sa ville, Moosonnee, à 98% constituée de Native Americans. Les anciens ont dit qu'ils avaient vu les ours ces temps-ci, ce qui est mauvais signe. Adam a du me laisser la semaine dernière, pendant une séance de chat, car il avait neigé fort et il devait déblayer devant la porte de la maison...

Il a aussi expliqué qu'avoir Internet était un privilège. Les amérindiens sont en général très pauvres, et subissent le système, ils sont aussi obèses car

ils mangent comme les américains mais leur métabolisme n'est pas encore le même, sont sujet à la boisson (ce qui a fait sombrer leur peuple) et aux jeux d'argents.
A cause du manque d'argent, Adam et sa famille doivent chasser des oies, des cerfs ou des caribous pour pouvoir manger de la viande, ils n'ont pas les moyens de s'en acheter.

J'avais contacté Adam pour parler des loups dans son pays, s'il en avait déjà vu, et aussi apprendre sur son peuple et son mode de vie. Je n'ai pas été déçue. Il va même m'apprendre un peu de Cree, la langue la plus répandue au Canada. Mais là où ça se corse est qu'il existe un multitude de dialectes Cree, alors c'est pas gagné je vais peut-être apprendre l'académique, à mes heures perdues. En tout cas les consonnances sont absolument magiques. En lisant un peu sur une page web destinée à cet effet, je me suis rendue compte que au niveau des constructions des phrases, cela se rapprochait curieusement...du japonais! Moi qui en ait fait pendant un an en option, ça m'a frappé.

On discutais l'autre jour avec Shayish, je lui ai traduit mon poème qu'il a bien aimé, et on a longement parlé des loups.

wolves and the cree

-the wolf, to us represant protection. it is the symbol we use for our Warrior Societies, because to wolves protect there young and we are the same way. they are our brothers and sisters. personally and along with my brother and father,we are all Wolf Clan.

We think in these terms. we do not kill the animal the animal gives it life so we can eat and for that we honor them. around here we still live humble only

have of our food is bought it a store. we hunt for the rest of the food. we have not alot of money to buy food here. We hunt moose, geese, and caribou and fish.

the Great Spirit our Creator

the white people were once like us, long before the Catholic church came, they lived close to the Earth, the white need healing

we should only be ashamed for the bad things that we did ourselves, not for something our ancestors did or are still doing this day
we are the only being who feel shame for what we do, the animals are not ashamed.it is how they live....

Et je terminerai par un passage qui m'a beaucoup marqué, celui ou Shayish me donne un nom...

In cree we say wolf " Mah hee kun". To me you are Maheekun ohkiichamah,it means... "Warrior who belongs to the wolf" but it translates into wolf warrior but it used to desribe that. You fight for them....in your heart you are Warrior. well from now on in the Spirit Wold this is your name. as far as i know it is only you who has that name. well you help the wolves, so they are ur family and maybe you have a wolf spirit. maybe the wolf has asked for your help and you answered. you seem to be Wolf clan. We'd all be lucky to have a heart such as yours.
